Evidence-Based Treatment to Manage Tics and Regain Control

Living with tics or Tourette’s can be frustrating, unpredictable, and at times isolating — but you don’t have to manage it alone. At Proven Relief Therapy, Dr. Alex Tice helps children, teens, and adults better understand and manage tics using research-backed behavioral methods that create real, lasting improvement.

Therapy here is structured, supportive, and focused on helping you take control of symptoms in practical, measurable ways.

Understanding Tics and Tourette’s

Tics are sudden, repetitive movements or vocalizations that can range from mild to severe. For some, they come and go; for others, they can interfere with school, work, or social life. When tics last for more than a year and include both motor and vocal tics, they may be diagnosed as Tourette’s Disorder.

Although tics are neurological in origin, behavioral therapy has been shown to significantly reduce their frequency and intensity — and help individuals feel more in control.

Dr. Tice uses a specialized, evidence-based behavioral therapy known as Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) to help clients manage tics effectively. CBIT teaches awareness, control, and substitution strategies that make tics less disruptive to daily life.
